For my favorite Monkey Mind sister … thanx again for the package that Captain Bill courageously sliced thru on my behalf. Gotta love our Daddy Cool … !! ;-D

Eraser
Did I spelt that write ?! Ax me another time. Yo. I’ll try to type better now. Try try try. Just a little bit harder. Janis Joplin. Paper Street. Stacks of Reader’s Digest. Tangentialism. Cancer group in xx minutes. 1st rule of Fight Club is. Go.
Favorite Passage
Wittgenstein:
(pages 191 – 192 in my livre)
Why did Bach have to sell his organ?
Derrida:
I don’t know. Why?
Wittgenstein:
Because he was baroque.
Desolée
Oh Amy. Of all the pages that I dog-eared (having met Riley perhaps I finally understand that expression), I do apologise for the favorite passage that I included above. I’m going to blame it on Captain Bill. My early season overdose of that man. I hope you R cracking. up. UP!
PH FAT
My dear friend Sonya (from Baltimore, MD) explained to me about PH FAT. Twas back in the day. I’d come across a fanzine (or similar) in Berkeley. I’d found it phunny but didn’t get it. So then Sonya ‘splained to me about PH FAT. I don’t know how accurate her explanation was. I just know that my dad was dying and Sonya cracked me up. Sonya and I laughed about PH FAT for the remainder of our years together. We PH FAT laughed during each hike, run, bike, swim, dip, trip, party, mishap. And I’m still laughing now. Oh how I love that Sonya. You know how much I love fonetic spellings. It’s a phetish that’s only been exacerbated over time. Due to all these linguas in my vie.
Liver Pool
Innat dat place wif pools? Livers? Helter skelter? Magical mystery tours? Coming to take us away? OMG Amy. Who knows if we can figure out a trip there, but it’s worth discussing for sure. I’ll try to write more about ERASER below. Please get ready for an asymptotic ride. Thanx for letting me incorporate the word asymptotic. I do love that werd.
Systemic Racism
So I know that you’re very taken by this subject and I thank you for that. It’s all over the place. While in the US, I was part of a conversation about BLM. When I asked what that meant, I was initially told that it stood for Black Lives Matter. Then … amidst the laughter … I was told that in fact everyone was talking about the Bureau of Land Management.
This all went down at a friend’s wine-tasting birthday celebration. A good time was had by all … I promise !! ;-D But there was a wee moment when I was scared that someone was going to share an inappropriate comment. Can you feel my heart racing as I type this? Thanx. So now please hold my hand such that I carry on with (hopefully ;-D) dignity and grace. This’ll take a few paragraphs so please stick w/ me …
Discrimination
My take on systemic racism (which hits me every fucking time I step out the door … so I won’t push back on its existence) is that it’s just one of many things that fall under the umbrella of discrimination. To my mind, other flavors of discrimation include (woefully, I feel that this list is inexhaustable):
- misogyny
- persecution (religious & otherwise)
- language (accents, dialects, speech impediments)
- physicality (deformities, skin issues, impaired movement)
Yikes !! Time for me to look for an offramp … here we go:
The Cure
The radio just fired up a song by The Cure … I won’t say which one b/c the lyrics are so dark … but it’s got such a happy tune. Surely this is a sign that we must make our way to that Pool of Livers. Perhaps via Yellow Submarine. There’s a British Invasion (music) museum there that I didn’t get to explore properly. ;-D
Highlights
OK so here are a few of my funnest things about your book gift:
- Time 100 – One of the last things that I watched w/ Mom & BIll in early May 2025 was the Time 100 (or whatever it’s called). I’d spoken w/ you just a day prior about the author Percival Eeverett. I believe his name was announced one way or another. I think he was there that evening at the Time 100 … I’ll look that up in due time.
- American Fiction – I don’t know what it’ll take for me to get access to the film but I will definitely look out for it.
- Thelonius Monk – I don’t know what kind of connection (if any) the author has w/ the funk artist (I hope I’m correct that there’s a funk reference here) but I will look into it soon …
OK I’ll send this to you before looking into that phunk stuff. Too retain the aufentifithy of my werds … XXOOXXOO !! V! ;-D
