Then deep-dive into my next book (which I can tell y’all about later) !! ;-D Right now it’s still all about Babs Queensolver<\/em> and that Demon<\/em> creature that she conjured up …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darling Niki ;-D<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Do y’all remember what I said last time<\/a> about Niki de St Phalle<\/em> ?! How her artwork could be used to inspire set design for how Demon got born<\/em> ?! ;-D Well, I later realised that Niki’s “Tarot Garden” in Italy<\/em> would be the perfect spot for that !! ;-D Not suggesting that we actually perform the skit \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

Righty-o, Virginia<\/em> … are y’all are able to determine a favorite <\/em>character from Demon Copperhead<\/em> … ?! A tall order, I know. As for me, I need to short-list Aunt June<\/em>. . I love her integrity<\/em> and was therefore relieved when things fizzled w\/ her Ken Doll Kent<\/em> (good riddance !!). I hereby nominate AR-15 June<\/em> for the US Supreme Court<\/em> !! I dog-eared this passage and wonder if y’all recall it too (pg 291):<\/p>\n\n\n

OMG !! Having no idea what an AR-15<\/em> looks like, I found the image above and it’s so scary that I shivered at the thought of displaying it here. But as this is Bab<\/em>‘s metaphor for Aunt June<\/em> (as described by Emmy<\/em>) … I’m trying to perform a brave show-n-tell<\/em> by putting it here. E-gads Virginia<\/em> … I must now transition to another fave …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did y’all enjoy how Babs<\/em> wove her cuss words into this book just so<\/em> \u2026 ?!?! How ‘ bout that trophy-winner Angus<\/em> (page 402):<\/p>\n\n\n

Go Angus<\/em> !! ;-D I loved her non-conformist<\/em> get-ups & “I don’t give a what” <\/em>aura. I was totally sold on her older-sister<\/em> antagonism w\/ Demon<\/em>. Wasn’t there a scene when the 2 of them needed to climb onto the roof to clear the gutter of leaves ?! I was so nervous that that I had to put the book down. Thank gawd Babs<\/em> didn’t injure either of them at that point … the precarity was there … ;-D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I loved<\/em> how those 2 hung out at home and volleyed incessant insults at one another. That sibling relationship is essential to the passage above … D’s grandma up the pole <\/em>due <\/em>to Angus … and Demon<\/em> just letting A<\/em> get on w\/ it … LMFAO<\/em> !! ;-D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As such … VirginiaStreakers<\/em> … I ask y’all this one outright … did that last scene in the car make y’all uncomfortable<\/em> ?! Oh yuck<\/em> … we all 3 have brothers<\/em> so do y’all see what I mean … ?! I’m interested to know if you reacted the same way as I did …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can we briefly discuss that<\/em> aspect of the ending ?! ;-D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally Lady-Bears <\/em>!! To extricate myself from that incestuous<\/em> car scene :-0, I’m going to gaze @ this gorgeous passage about Demon<\/em>‘s love of nature, as explained while he was living in the city (pg 514):<\/p>\n\n\n

Do y’all recall that I wrote ’bout us 3<\/em> reading this book against the beautiful backdrops<\/em> of our current homes<\/em> ?! Well. I sure as all hell meant <\/em>it. And check this out => I spoke to Jenny-Jo<\/em> (who lives in Rocky Mountain High-Hiiiii Colorado<\/em> ;-D) just the other day, and she commented on just how loud the bird gossip<\/em> was on my side of the line. ;-D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True story !! JJ<\/em> will be in the PRC<\/em> (yuppers, that<\/em> place ;-D) when we VirginiaStreakers<\/em> speak on 9th June<\/em> … so she won’t join us. But I recommended Demon<\/em> for whenever she needs a good read. I’ll try to chat w\/ her before her birfday (9ff Juuuuuuly<\/em>). ;-D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally … a few sundry bits before I log off:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
